Anam Asks Activists to Intensify Samaikhyandhra Agitation

Hyderabad, August 30 (INN): Congress MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy on Friday called the activists of Samaikhyandhra to intensify their agitation.

Talking to reporters in the Congress Legislature Party office here, Vivekananda Reddy said that the Centre would be forced to reverse its decision on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh if the ongoing agitation in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions gets intensified. He said it was only due to the ongoing agitation that the Centre has kept the process of Telangana formation on hold. Else, he said that the State’s bifurcation would have got the nod of Union Cabinet.

Defending Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC President Botsa Satyanrayana, he said that both the leaders have repeatedly expressed their opposition to division of State. They not only wrote letters to the Congress High Command, but also expressed their resentment in public forums. Therefore, he said that their sincerity towards Samaikhyandhra should not be doubted and they need not prove anything.

Vivekanda Reddy also ridiculed the Telugu Atma Gaurav Yatra proposed to be taken out by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. He said that how could a person who backstabbed his own father-in-law NTR to grab power could speak about self-respect.

When asked about the possibilities about formation of a new political party in Seemandhra region, he said a decision in this regard would be taken if found necessary.
