Google’s Largest Overseas Office in Asia to Open in Hyderabad by 2019
In a move that would add much value to Hyderabad’s IT reputation, Internet search giant Google has announced that it would open its largest overseas campus in Hyderabad-possibly second in size to its headquarters. A MOU(Memorandum of Understanding) was signed to this effect by David Radcliffe-VP of Google Inc and IT Secretary of Telangana in presence of K.T. Rama Rao-Telangana IT minister on May 11’ 2015 in Google headquarters in California. The campus plans to be build on 2 Million SFT space on a space of 7.2 Acres being allotted to it in Gachibowli-Hyderabad and is planned to be completed by 2019. Apart from this, Google has also announced hiring plans in coming years for about 6,500 new professionals in Hyderabad to work from this proposed location-apart from the existing staff of about 6,500 in its current Hyderabad centre. In a related development, Hyderabad is soon set to be the first city in India to get the Streetview feature in Google maps and Google’s partnership and expertise was also sought for improving digital literacy in Telangana.
