We Pay Our Regards to the Legend of Tollywood ANR
On February 22, 1949 ‘Keelugurram’ was released. This film was a great industry hit and had beaten ‘Gunasundari’ with its exceptional collections at the Box Office. In ‘Keelugurram’ late Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao played the lead role. He portrayed the role of prince Vikramasimhudu in the film. This film was the first film of Ghantasala’s career as a music director. Anjali Devi played the role of a vamp named Bhuvanasundari. This film was the first ever Telugu film to be dubbed in Tamil. In Tamil it was titled as ‘Mayakkudirai’ and as expected it also created magic in Tamil and came out as a blockbuster. September 20 is the birth anniversary of legendary Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke award winner Akkineni Nageswara Rao. We pay our regards to him.
