Kareena Kapoor, the actress and the wife of  Saif Ali Khan, informed that the government has sent her husband a letter mentioning that his ‘Padma Shri’ award will not be retracted.

Earlier, there were specifications in rife that Saif Ali Khan may lose his ‘Padma Shri’ award, the fourth highest honour of the nation.

Saif was awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ in 2010 for his contribution in promoting art in the nation. It was reported that after the incidence of assaulting a NRI businessmn in a hotel, government had a plan to take back the honour from actor.

It was reported that Saif hit a South Africa-based businessman on his nose at a Colaba hotel in February 2012.
