Balakrishna Announces Details Of His 100th Film

Balakrishna had announced the details of his 100th film at Amaravathi on the occasion of Ugadi festival day. Speaking on the occasion, Nandamuri Balakrishna says, ‘All the Telugu people in general and my fans in particular are eagerly waiting for my 100th film and are expecting which would be that prestigious movie. I hereby announce that I am doing a film based on the history of Gauthami Putra Shatakarni under the direction of Krish. Instead of saying that it is my 100th film, I can proudly say that it is my hard work and effort for the past 99 films. My 40 years of experience and efforts to pass 99 milestones could be seen in this film. It is the story of a great king which should be known to everyone who belongs to the Telugu language. It is the history of an emperor who ruled the entire India under one rule. I am fortunate to work in that character. I have also learnt recently that my father, the late NT Rama Rao also worked on the story for about six months. However, he could not to do that role. It may be mentioned here that Gauthami Putra Shatakarni fought many battles to establish peace. He remained a role model for Maratha leader Chatrapati Shivaji and many others. The film will have all the elements that are expected from my movie. It is an opportunity which I got with the blessings of my father, who is my God. A good team is working for the film. Script work for the film is in progress. The film would make the entire country proud. We will work hard and make it happen.’ Director Krish says, ‘I am very happy that I got a chance to direct the prestigious 100th movie of Balakrishna and I am indebted to him forever. We are doing a film with a story that was never touched by anyone and I am proud to mould the story on the celluloid. It is Gauthami Putra Shatakarni who united India which remained bits and pieces earlier.’
