A Message-oriented Filmmaker Of T-town

R Narayan Murthy the actor, director and producer of Tollywood is considered to be a one-man army by the film industry. In his two decades of career he has made 27 films, which were mostly message-oriented films for social change . He mostly sits on a mat in his room and goes about finalizing the production work. He has no proper office in Film Nagar though he spends around Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore per film. He is mostly seen in pristine white clothes, he is oblivious to the dust on the streets. He doesn’t own a car and is often seen commuting in autos. It is said that he never underpays his artistes or delays payments to his group of actors.
Narayana Murthy believes that cinema as a powerful tool for social change all of which talk of oppression by the ruling classes and the exploitative corporate culture.
He is currently making Rajyadhikaram with a similar theme. It is not surprise to the industry if he soon complete his 50 films.
