AP Dreams Big, Plans Massive, Aims High... Will Succeed?
3 international airports and 14 domestic airports, 14 major and minor ports, rivaling Singapore on the maritime front, 3 Mega Cities and 11 Smart Cities, and 28 Special Economic Zones (SEZs), that’s all the ambitious plan of Andhra Pradesh government.
N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of AP aims at placing the state among the top three states in the country by 2022. He also aims at making the state “air and maritime hub”.
The state also plans to create inland waterways apart from a National Waterway connecting coastal town Kakinada with Puducherry.
The plan has five “grids” and the seven “missions”, making it massive for a bifurcated state.
water, power, highways, gas and fibre optic contemplate five grids, while seven missions comprise of primary sector, social empowerment, skill and knowledge development, urban development, industry sector and infrastructure sector.
Naidu says, “A society without poverty… a state that is a centre of technology…And, a joyous population confident of its bright future… That is my ultimate vision for Andhra Pradesh. I will ensure that we create the entire ecosystem and develop each city into a growth centre and eventually transform Andhra Pradesh into a bustling state.
