Twenty20: Sri Lanka beat India by 29 runs
In the first Twenty20 match Sri Lanka beat India by 29 runs. India won the toss and elected to field first. Sri Lanka made 215 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs. Sangakkara made 78 in 37 balls and Kapugedera made 47 in 20 balls.
In reply, India made 186 for 9 wickets with Gambhir top scoring with 55. India lost wickets at regular intervals and were 115 for 6 at one stage. For Sri Lanka Mathews and Jayasurya took two wickets each.
