Testing Time for Bowlers

Powerplay’s while not there 30 feet outside the circle 5 fielders should be placed is the rule which was following from the last 2 decades in ODI cricket, but now in Clive lloyd as member in ICC committee has brought a few changes in this regard

While powerplays are not there in those overs outside the circle there should be only 4 fielders should be there is the current rule, and this what testing the international bowlers, generally in limited overs format batsman generally rule the game by playing all kinds of shots, and now this current rule in ODI format is really playing a tough task for the bowlers is what indain captain Dhoni’s argument and many team captains are in the same thought,in recent years batsmen are playing scoop shots, switch shots reverse sweeps and flick shots and thereby increasing the averages of bowlers, in this current situation if one fielder is restricted from the outside the circle out of 5 fielders in powerplays means it will be very tough to bowling department to restrict the batsmen from scoring lot of runs, bowlers have the chance of delivering two bouncers in an over but generally very few bowlers are utilizing that opportunity, generally lot of captains depends on spin bowlers and this inturn two bouncers in an over is going in vain with pace bowlers, what dhoni is worrying his team bowling department is not up to the mark and mostly he opts for only 4 bowlers and 5 ‘th bowler he uses as parttime bowler and in this situation he depends mostly on spin bowlers, and in power-plays it will be very difficult for the parttime bowlers to stop the runs flow, this rule will be benifitted for teams who depends mostly on fast bowlers.Generally lot of youngsters are showing interest in Batting rather than bowling so this will reduce the no of upcoming bowlers in to ODI cricket,as lot of captains has showing dis-approval to the new rule in ODI so the rule might be soon removed, if the disinterest continues.
