Sachin Tendulkar became the first cricketer to score 13000 Test runs when he pulled off-spinner Mahmudullah to the fence late in the afternoon during the opening day of the first Test against Bangladesh at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) at Chittagong. It was Tendulkar’s 163rd Test and 266th innings. This is his 56th fifty in Tests. He already scored 43 centuries, the highest by any batsman so far.
In the first test India made 213 for 8 at the close of play on the first day with Tendulkar scoring 76 not out and Sehwag contributing 52. For Bangladesh Shakib took 4 wickets for 52 runs and Shahadat 4 for 51.
