In yet another milestone in her illustrious career, Saina Nehwal has today reached the top of the BWF (Badminton World Federation) rankings again, after overtaking Li Xuerui of China to reach the coveted position. Saina was the number one in rankings a few months back, and then slipped to the second position.
Saina would be seen in the upcoming Australian open series next week and a win there can further consolidate her rankings. She had won two titles this year-Indian open and Indian Grand Prix Gold and had also reached to the final stages of the Al England open championship.
She is followed by PV Sindhu at the 12’ place and the doubles duo of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa are at the 21’ place in doubles rankings.
