The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh K. Rosaiah, said that all the matches of the third season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 Tournament that were to take place in Hyderabad will be held as per schedule including the opening ceremony.
When asked about the shift of the IPL-III inaugural venue from Hyderabad to Mumbai due to the ongoing political and civil unrest in the state over the Telangana issue, Rosaiah said, “All the matches that are supposed to be in Hyderabad will be held.”
Commenting on the law and order situation, the Chief Minister said it was “somewhat better” but there was still “stress” on the economy. “Many conferences and meetings have been shifted out of Hyderabad. Students are also being affected due to shut downs,” he said.
