Swiss Tennis star and world number one Roger Federer won his 4th Australian Open and 16th Grand Slam title defeating Britain’s Andy Murray on Sunday at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
Federer’s remarkable level of consistency continued when he decimated the fifth seed Scot in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (13/11) in two hours 41 minutes. The victory came in a gripping tie-breaker, 13 points to 11, when Murray frittered five set points and the Swiss claimed it on his third match point.
Roger Federer became the first Tennis ace to win 16 Grand Slam titles and has won them in the span of 27 majors and has lost only six finals during that time. He became the fifth man in history to win four Australian Open titles with the last man to do so being American Andre Agassi in 2003.
The most Grand Slam title winners are:

1. Roger Federer 16

2. Pete Sampras 14

3. Roy Emerson 12
