BCCI Objects To Sahara Ad With Top Cricketers

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly asked the Sahara group to stop telecasting the advertisement for its Sahara ‘Q’ Shop featuring top Indian players in controversial shots.

The TV advertisement is for Sahara ‘Q’ shop, which is being promoted as an adulteration-free retail chain.

In the TV commercial, Sachin Tendulkar is shown performing the last rites,

Yuvraj Singh digging a grave, Virender Sehwag replacing a cradle with a hospital bed, and Virat Kohli bringing a wheelchair.

Even the players are said to be unhappy with the Ad that is being shown on TV channels. They never had any idea about the final output of the Ad when they were shooting for it. They also want BCCI to do something about this Ad.

Some BCCI members are said to have felt that the advertisement is bad for the image of Indian cricketers.

It appears that Sahara has also breached the rules of the agreement by featuring eight players in an advertisement while the BCCI permits only three.
