2nd Test: New Zealand in control
On the second day of the second test being played between New Zealand and India at McLean Park, Napier, New Zealand resuming its score at 351 for 4 declared their first innings at 619 for 9.
Ryder made his maiden double century (201) and New Zealand had been helped by contributions from Taylor (151), McCullum (115), Franklin (52) and skipper Vettori with 55.
In reply, India started their first innings with a flourish with stand-in captain Sehwag smashing 34 in 25 balls, India were at 79 for 3 at stumps in the second day with Dravid (21) and Sachin Tendulkar (0) unbeaten at the crease.
Gambhir (16) and night watchman I Sharma were the other batsmen who returned to the pavilion.
