2nd ODI: Play washed out by rain
India were galloping at 130 for 1 in 19 overs when rain lashed down and stopped the play. Three rain interruptions had reduced the 50-over game to a 34-over a side match.
India made 188 for 4 from 28.4 overs, when the rain poured again forcing the umpires to abandon the match. Virender Sehwag (54) and Sachin Tendulkar (61) contributed to India’s score and recorded their 31st and 91st half centuries respectively in ODIs.
The two teams now go to Christchurch for the 3rd ODI with India leading the five-match series 1-0.
