Second world conference of Telugu writers ignored Muslims
While expressing great concern over increasing influence of English on Telugu and fears that the future generations may not use the language any more, the second world conference of Telugu writers that held at Vijayawada recently has sadly ignored the services of Muslim writers to Telugu language.
Present day renowned Telugu writers and poets like Devipriya, Khadar Mohiddin, Afsar, Yaqub, Khaja, Sky Baba, Shajahana, Mahe Jabeen, Khadir Babu, Baa Rahamtulla, Karimulla, Nasir and Salim etc. have adopted Telugu for their writings ignoring their mother tongue Urdu. (One may consider my name also in this list.). For us Telugu is not by chance, but by choice.
