“Former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy would be held responsible for decisions taken by his Cabinet during his tenure”– These statements were made by Senior Congress leader JC Diwakar Reddy on Tuesday.
The former minister’s statement comes in the wake of the state High Court ordering the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe into illegal land allotments which took place during the tenure of former chief minister Dr YSR. In reply, Diwakar Reddy stated that the Cabinet Ministers would not be held responsible for the decisions taken by the Chief Minister.
Diwakar Reddy also found fault in the statement of YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy that the Chief Minister could not be held responsible for the decisions taken by Cabinet collectively. “The Chief Minister is responsible for all decisions taken by the Cabinet since he is the Head of the Government,” the former minister said, pointing out that he had opposed to implementation of Rs 2-a-kg rice and free power supply to farmers. “However, former chief minister Dr YSR had brushed my objections aside and implemented these scheme,” he stated.
