YS Jagan's bail plea to be heard on May 31

YSR Congress chief and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy moved the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court for bail on Tuesday in the disproportionate assets case. The bail has been posted for May 31 for hearing. He was sent to 14-day judicial custody on Monday in the disproportionate assets case.

CBI, which was denied Jagan Reddy’s custody, is likely to move a higher court for his custody. The Enforcement Directorate, too, is likely to question him in connection with the case.

Since Jagan won’t be able to campaign for the crucial by-polls for one Lok Sabha and 18 Assembly seats scheduled to take place on June 12,
his mother Vijayamma is set to begin campaigning for the by-polls on Wednesday from Srikakulam.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission is understood to have decided not to intervene in the matter concerning the arrest of Jagan as the matter was sub- judice and a legal process was on.
