The 13-day winter session of the State Legislative Assembly and Council starts Today and the issue of fast-unto-death for separate Telangana by K. Chandrasekhar Rao, President, Telagana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)and the violence the agitation has triggered. TRS had given a 48-hour bandh call and observing it on Sunday and Monday.
The proceedings of the Legislative Assembly and Council will start by paying homage to former Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, who died in a helicopter crash.
The government is expected to move a resolution in the House against declaration of Hyderabad as a free zone on Tuesday and the TRS is likely to utilise the session for stepping up its demand for a unanimous resolution seeking statehood for Telangana.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) have announced their support to the resolution on separate Telangana if the ruling party was prepared to move it.
