With Andhra Pradesh chief minister Konijeti Rosaiah continuing to operate from his Begumpet residence because of continuing ill health, those wanting to take his place have started making their moves in Delhi.
Among the aspirants are Union minister Jaipal Reddy, assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy, information minister Geeta Reddy, and other ministers in the Rosaiah cabinet. While most of the aspirants are from the Telangana region, there are others from the Andhra region including Union minister D Purandeswari and state minister Botsa Satyanarayana besides Kiran Kumar Reddy.
According to political sources, the Congress high command might seriously examine the issue of a leadership change in AP towards the second half of September. Interestingly, the appointment of the next CM is linked to the appointment of the next PCC president.
