The national president of ruling BJP has announced his core team today. The most surprising element emerged as Varun Gandhi’s removal as general secretary of the party.
Varun’s mother Meneka recently portrayed his son’s name for the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Former CM of Karnataka, BS Yedyurappa has been included in the list as the national vice-president along with Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Bandaru Dattatrey.
According to BJP, young and experienced leaders have been given a place in Mr Shah’s team. The party says that half of the team members are below the age of 50, while nearly 90 per cent haven’t touched 60.
It is reported that Narendra Modi and RSS have held series of meetings to finalize Amit Shah’s team.
RSS got its top leaders included into the new team. Ram Madhav and Murlidhar Rao have been made general secretaries. Other general secretaries are JP Nadda, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Saroj Pande, Bhupendra Yadav, Ramshankar Katheria and Ram Lal.
MJ Akbar has been appointed as the spokesperson for the party along with Nalin Kohli, Shahnawaz Hussain, Dr Sambit Patra, GVL Narasimha Rao.
Anurag Thakur has retained his position in Yuva Morcha.
