US Congress votes $ 700 Bn to bail out financial sector
The US Congress approved, with a vote of 263-171, a revised $ 700 billion plan to assist the tottering financial sector. The US House of Representatives cleared the crucial measure though it rejected an earlier plan four days ago..
The passed package bill will now be sent it to President George W Bush for his signature after which it will become a law. The Senate earlier passed with a vote of 74-25 the revised version of the bailout package.
Bush said the package will help the US economy weather the financial crisis.
