Union Cabinet recommends deletion of Clause 14(F)

The Union Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) is reported to have recommended deletion of Clause 14 (F) of the Presidential Order, 1975, which makes the people of all the three regions in the state eligible for police jobs in Hyderabad.

The CCPA was chaired by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and attended by 10 ministers including P Chidambaram, Pranab Mukherjee, A K Antony, Salman Khurshid, S M Krishna, Sharad Pawar (NCP), Dinesh Trivedi (Trinamool Congress), Alagiri (DMK) and Farooq Abdullah (National Conference).

The CCPA decision would be approved by the Union Cabinet and forwarded to the President of India for approval and sanction.
