TRS not to attend Jan 6 meeting with HM
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi and has decided not to attend the January 6 meeting of all political parties convened by Union home minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi to discuss the Justice Srikrishna Committee report.
TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao wrote a letter to Chidambaram stating that he had serious reservations about the purpose of inviting two representatives each from political parties from the state, when the Congress and TDP had neither an official stand nor a common opinion on the Telangana issue. KCR further questioned the purpose of the meeting as all political parties in the state agreed to extend support if a Telangana bill was introduced.
TRS would reconsider its decision if the Centre agreed to invite only one representative from each party. TRS has appealed to the BJP, CPI and CPM to boycott the January 6 meeting with the Union Home Minister.
