TRS leader Harish meets YSR
The newly-elected TRS MLA from Siddipet, T. Harish Rao happens to be the nephew of TRS supremo, K Chandrasekhar Rao. There had been reports of rivalry between Harish and Rama Rao, son of KCR and general secretary of the party.
Harish Rao, who won with a handsome margin, created a flutter in the political circles after he met the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Raja-sekhar Reddy at the Secretariat in Hyderabad on Monday. Though nobody really knows what transpired between the two, rumours of a likely split in the TRS were doing the rounds. The TRS MLA has also presented a bouquet to the Chief Minister.
The meeting assumed significance as it came a day after the TRS suffered heavy losses in Telangana. According to TRS sources Harish Rao is seeking his pound of flesh in the organisation. His aim is to become leader of the TRS Legislature party. However, Chandrasekhar Rao plans to nominate an MLA belonging to either weaker section or backward class for the post of legislative party leader.
Speculation was also ripe in TRS circles that the meeting was arranged by rebel TRS Sangareddy MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy, who is considered to be close to the Chief Minister.
In another development, the minister for mines, P. Sabitha Indira Reddy, the government chief whip, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and newly-elected Vikara-bad MLA Prasad was greeted by the TRS Kamalapur MLA, E. Rajender at the Congress Legislature Party.
