TRS and T-JAC to meet President and PM
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao and Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) leaders have decided to go to Delhi and lobby with as many national leaders and opposition party chiefs as possible on the necessity to form a separate Telangana state.
They will also call on President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and apprise them of the present state of affairs in Telangana region.
The visit to Delhi by TRS and T-JAC assumes significance in the context of Gulab Nabhi Azad’s statement that the union government would take the views of opposition parties before arriving at a conclusion on the Telangana issue.
T-Congress ministers, MPs and MLAs have already met Azad and appraised him of the urgency for an early decision on the T-statehood issue.
