When Gujarat CM Narendra Modi visited Hyderabad, Tollywood made a beeline for his appointment. Many wondered how come entire Tollywood fraternity is so attracted with Modi’s vibrating presence. True that Modi is making waves as PM candidate of NDA, virtually ripping PM Manmohan Singh on virtually all fronts.
Insiders say with Telangana turning out to be a reality many Tollywood personalities are competing for BJP tickets in seemandhra. If everything goes well, BJP will have many stars contesting on its ticket in the next elections. K Raghavendra Rao, D Rama Naidu, Daggubati Rana, Mohan Babu (with his children Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Lakshmi) and Jagapati Babu.
Others including, Krishnam Raju, Kota Srinivas Rao, Ali, Gouthami, MM Keervani, and VV Vinayak also met him along with industrialists and media barons, including Ch Kiran, the son of Eenadu’s Ramoji Rao. Many say film celebrities came to know that BJP is scouting for candidates in seemandhra region and so they threw their hat in the ring.
Inside talk is Mohan Babu’s two sons, Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Manoj, would either run for Lok Sabha or assembly polls from suitable seats in Chittoor. Even Mohan Babu is weighing his options. Krishnam Raju is also eying a comeback. he veteran actor is likely to contest from Kakinada or Narasapur Lok Sabha seat.
Not to be left behind is Kota Srinivasa Rao who is keen to contest from Vijayawada (East) assembly segment. What surprised most is Balakrishna meeting Modi. Many feel TDP is keen on reviving its alliance with BJP.
