Telangana issue threatens to split TDP
The differences between TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and TDP Telangana Forum (TTDPF) convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy came out into the open with the latter threatening to chalk out his own path if the Centre refuses to concede a T State or the TDP fails to take a pro-T stand. There was an open spat between Nagam Janardhan Reddy and five other TDP MLAs in the Assembly in the presence of TDP president.
Nagam also stated that the 38 TDP MLAs from Telangana region were solidly behind him and they all would submit resignations for the cause of Telangana.
Disputing the claim of Nagam, TDP MLAs Revanth Reddy and M Narasimhulu said that the former was only trying to hog the limelight. However, when Naidu called for a TDP MLAs for a meeting, about 19 MLAs from Telangana region including Nagam did not attend.
There was speculation that Nagam is trying to split the TDP to form a Telangana Telugu Desam party.
