Significant meeting of Congress leaders from Telangana seeking a separate state with party general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad ends in New Delhi. Talking to media after the meeting the congress delegation said they had made it clear in the meeting that they would not accept any alternative to a separate Telangana state, and urged the leadership for a written agreement for the same. However the leaders informed that there would be a similar meeting on Wednesday to have a comprehensive look into the issue.
The 12-member team, constituted by the steering committee, met Azad at 7 p.m on Monday. The members were Committee chairmen K. Keshava Rao and K. Jana Reddy, MPs Madhu Goud Yaskhi, G. Sukhender Reddy, Manda Jaggannatham, Rajaiah, K. Rajagopal Reddy and Vivek and state minister Geeta Reddy.
