T-stir: 12 MLAs suspended from AP Assembly

Twelve MLAs, 7 from TRS, 4 CPI and 1 from BJP have been suspended for disrupting the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, while the Finance Minister A Ramanarayan Reddy was reading out the budget speech.

The twelve MLAs rushed towards the podium raising Jai Telangana slogans. They were demanding that the Assembly adopt a resolution on the separate statehood to Telangana. Because of the disruption, the house was adjourned thrice. Later, on a motion from the housing minister, the MLAs were suspended. They were evicted from the Assembly by the marshals.

The TDP MLAs boycotted the Assembly on the issue of separate statehood to Telangana and staged a rasta-roko at Lakdi-Ka-Phool.

Meanwhile, the second day of the 48-hour bandh was total in all the ten Telangana districts including Hyderabad. Shops and establishments remained closed. Road and rail transport services remained paralyzed.
