With about 35 Congress MLAs, including 12 ministers, from Telangana region due to submit their resignations to the legislative assembly Dy Speaker today, the Congress high command last night summoned minister Jana Reddy to come to Delhi along with three other MLAs. Jana Reddy has emerged as the spokesperson for the group of Telangana Congress MLAs who decided to submit their resignations to bring pressure on the union government to speed up the process of the formation of a separate Telangana state. With this development, there is speculation whether the resignations episode will take place today or not.
Meanwhile, two ministers and ten Congress MLAs hailing from Hyderabad stated that they would not submit resignations. The Telangana TDP MLAs are in the wait and watch mode as they too said they would submit resignations after the Congress MLAs do so. But four T-TDP MLAs of Nagam group have already submitted their resignations.
However, it is not clear how many T-MLAs would submit resignations today as the chief minister and PCC president are still trying to dissuade them from resigning.
