The Congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Telangana region, who have resigned demanding a separate T-state, had rushed to Delhi to have talks with the Congress high command. A few days ago they refused to go to Delhi taking objection to certain observations made by AICC general Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The T-congress leaders seem to have been unnerved by the response the Seemandhra congress leaders received from the Prime Minister and other Congress core committee members. They decided to stay put in Delhi until a favorable statement with regard to the formation of a separate T-state is issued.
Ponnam Prabhakar, Karimnagar MP says that the T-congress leaders would insist on their resignations being accepted if there is no firm assurance from Delhi on their demand for a T-state. On the other hand, they are said to be prepared to withdraw their resignations in case if the central leaders give them a concrete assurance with a time limit on the T-state issue.
