The Justice B.N. Srikrishna Committee report on the contentious issue of Telangana will be made public today. The 600 page report will be available on the GoI website by 12 noon today.
Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram will formally hand over copies of the report to representatives of political parties at a meeting he has convened in his office in New Delhi on January 6. Out of the eight parties invited by him, the TRS, BJP and TDP have decided to keep away from the meeting. Only the Congress, Praja Rajyam, CPI, CPI (M) and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen will be present.
Another meeting of all political parties is likely to be held later to discuss the Srikrishna Committee report.
The State government has already secured Central police forces anticipating disturbances. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and APCC president D. Srinivas are already in Delhi for consultations with the Congress high command.
