Seemandhra Meeting Should Not be Permitted: Gandra
Hyderabad, August 30 (INN): Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy on Friday asked the State Government not to permit the public meeting proposed to be organised by Seemandhra leaders in Hyderabad on September 7.
Addressing a press conference in the Congress Legislature Party office here, Gandra said that the Seemandhra meeting might create law and order issue in Hyderabad and therefore, it should not be permitted at any cost. Appealing the APNGOs and other organisations to withdraw the proposed meeting, he said that the event poses threat to the peaceful atmosphere in the State capital. He also appealed to the Seemandhra legislators to call off the dharna proposed to be held on September 3 at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Assembly premises.
Gandra said that the Congress High Command has kept a close watch on leaders who are opposing its decision State’s bifurcation and would take stern action if necessary.
He also condemned the proposed bus yatra of YSRCP leader Sharmila and said that the party should clarify what it means by saying equal justice to all regions. He said that the YSRCP should submit its proposal to the Centre instead of creating the feelings of hatred and division among the people.
