Sailajanath Appeals for unity among Seemandhra Leaders
Hyderabad, Sept 11 (INN): State Minister and Seemandhra Congress Legislators Forum convener S Sailajanath on Wednesday dismissed the demand for resignation of MLAs from the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema region.
Talking to reporters in the Congress Legislature Party office here, Sailajanath said that the MLAs need to retain their posts. He feared that the absence of Seemandhra MLAs would facilitate passing of Telangana Bill in the State Legislative Assembly. Therefore, the Seemandhra MLAs must be in the House to defeat the Telangana Bill, he said.
Sailajanath also appealed to the Seemandhra leaders to unite instead of issuing statements against each other. He said that the focus of all Seemandhra leaders should be on preventing bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He accused the TDP and YSRCP of trying to take political advantage of the situation.
He condemned the attack on the Seemandhra employees returning from the APNGOs public meeting on September 7. He also condemned TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and accused him of giving preference to the welfare of his family than people. He alleged that KCR was not serious about Telangana cause.
