MLAs elected from Telangana Region to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly have resigned to their respective positions in the name of Statehood for Telangana. Raising voice against central government inability to take decision on formation of separate Telangana, 33 MLAs from Telugu Desam Party resigned to their positions, followed by 11 ministers from ruling Congress party including Jana Reddy, Geetha Reddy etc…and 25 MLAs of Congress party also submitted their resignations. Earlier, Jublihills MLA, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy was the first person to resign, followed by Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy and Madhu Yaski, who sent resignations through FAX to deputy speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
The decision to resign from Assembly has been taken by Congress Leaders earlier on July 4th. Elected MPs of Congress Party are yet to resign and they are in talks with government. Rebel Congress MLA Konda Surekha also resigned.
