New Delhi, Oct 10 (INN): Congress MP from Guntur Rayapati Sambasiva Rao on Thursday hinted that he might join the Telugu Desam Party.
Rayapati, who resigned from the Congress party’s primary membership and also from post, called on TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at AP Bhavan where the latter undertook an indefinite hunger fast demanding justice for Telugu people. Rayapati’s arrival to the hunger strike camp came as a surprise even for Naidu, whose fast entered fourth day on Thursday. Although Rayapati confined his visit to expressing solidarity with Naidu’s fast, the body language of both the leaders clearly indicated that both were planning to work together in future.
Talking to reporters later, Rayapati said that he has resigned from Congress party long back in protest against its decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh. However, he said that he would announce his future plans at an appropriate time. (INN)
