Dr Manmohan Singh, who underwent a second coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS on January 24, was discharged from the hospital in the morning on Feb 1.
The Prime Minister was discharged after the doctors completed the pre-discharge tests on Friday. The decision to discharge Singh from the hospital was taken by a team of doctors from Asian Heart Institute (AHI) led by surgeon Dr Ramakant Panda.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will have to follow a strict dietary regimen to keep his long-term diabetes under control. Doctors have prescribed a 6-week recuperation period before he can fully attend to his duties.
