Lobbying hard for the Indo-US nuclear deal, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee is in Teheran to seek support for the Indo-US nuclear deal from Non Aligned Movement (NAM) countries, who are members of the 35-member International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA0 and the 45-member Nuclear Supply Group (NSG).
Mukherjee arrived in the Iranian capital on Monday to take part in the Non-Aligned Movement ministerial meeting. He is scheduled to hold talks with his counterpart from Algeria, which is one of the IAEA Board of Governors taking up the India-specific safeguards agreement on August 1.
Mukherjee will also meet the foreign ministers of Cyprus and Belarus, which are members of the NSG. Egypt and Ghana are members of IAEA, while South Africa is a member of the NSG.
