Still the ban on TV9 and ABN channels not yet lifted. As the both channels are trying it’s level best to resolve the issue, even the situation is getting worsen day by day. This issue has taken a new turn with the High Court’s decision. ABN News Channel approached the court for seeking the ban lift. They have filed the petition with lots of hope. But all their’s approach for the ban lift gone in despair.
Telangana State High Court has rejected the petition appealed by ABN News Channel. The sources indicate that the High Court gave the result in favor to the MSO’s of the state.
As this issue of banning TV9 and ABN News Channels is still remain unsolved, Telangana PCC President Ponnala Laxmaiah extended his support to the channels. Lakshmaiah reacting on the ban of ABN and TV9 in Telangana stated that some organisations banning the media is an act against the freedom of press and visual media and added that it is an unfortunate incident and felt that there should not be any hindrance to the freedom of print and visual media in the democratic set up . Ponnala suggested that whoever it might be the thought of pounding on media is not right and suggested to take judiciary action against them if they portray any objectionable content.
