Police help Sought as Naidu Refuses to Vacate AP Bhavan
New Delhi, Oct 9 (INN): AP Bhavan Resident Commissioner Shashank Goel on Wednesday sought the help of Delhi police in evicting TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu who undertook indefinite hunger fast in the premises.
Goel wrote a letter to Principal Secretary of Home Ministry stating that Naidu’s hunger strike in the AP Bhavan premises was illegal. He also forwarded the letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner and also to Election Commission as the election code of conduct in force in view of Delhi Assembly elections. He sought the help of Delhi Police to evict Naidu and his supporters from the premises.
However, Naidu, who began his fast on Monday, refused to vacate the premises saying that his fast was for a good cause. The TDP supporters also had a minor scuffle with the police personnel who visited the AP Bhavan on Wednesday. The authorities had also locked the AP Bhavan’s gate refusing entry to anyone. TDP Parliamentary Party leader Nama Nageshwara Rao condemned the action stating that even elected representatives were not allowed to enter the premises. (INN)
