PMs of India and Pakistan meet in Washington

The Nuclear Security Summit is now in progress at the Walter E. Washington convention centre in downtown Washington where 47 world leaders gather together in one room.

Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India who is attending the summit which got underway Monday evening with a reception hosted by US President Barack Obama.

During a short break in the summit proceedings, Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani strode up to Dr. Singh and the two leaders greeted each other warmly.

Vishnu Prakash, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, ruled out any formal one-to-one meeting between the Indian and Pakistani Prime Ministers.
