Phone Tapping May Not Stand Legal Scrutiny: AP Officials

‘Cash for Vote’ scam was the hot topic in the Andhra Prades Secretariat. Some senior officials of AP had expressed an opinion that phone tapping and sting operation may not stand legal scrutiny. But, this issue may decline the political image of Telugu Desam Party and its President Chandra Babu Naidu.
As seen in the video, Mr.Revanth Reddy didn’t handover the amount directly to the nominated MLA Stephenson. The officials felt that ACB may not prove that Revanth Reddy had personally involved in bribery. In the court, Telugu Desam Party may argue that they had a strength of almost 20 MLA’s with whose support it can win the MLC seat easily. The resignations of Telugu Desam MLA’s who joined TRS were not accepted by the speaker and so claims that they belong to TDP technically.
A senior IAS officer expressed that TRS is playing a smart game and trying to involve the name of Mr. Naidu in this episode. The officer raised a doubt about the involvement of TS Government in recording the conversation between Mr.Naidu and Stephenson.
