Praja Rajyam Party politburo member and senior politician Parvataneni Upendra breathed his last today evening at a corporate hospital in Hyderbad where he was admitted after the failure of his kidneys.
Upendra is survived by wife, three sons and a daughter. Congress MP from Vijayawada and noted industrialist Lagadapati Rajagopal is the son-in-law of late Upendra.
P Upendra worked as the PS to Madhu Dandavathe and later as PRO in the Indian Railways. He joined politics after Telugu Desam Party was formed and he was the chief advisor to the late NT Rama Rao. He was elected to Rahya Sabha on TDP ticket.. After N Chandrababu Naidu split the Telugu Desam, he quit TDP and joined the Congress and got elected to the Lok Sabha from Vijayawada constituency.. He joined Chiranjeevi’s PRP in 2008.
