OU Students Held for Protest at Gandhi Bhavan

Hyderabad, July 13 (INN): Several students of Osmania University were taken into custody by the police when they tried to lay seized to Congress headquarters Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday.

The students, affiliated to OUJAC gathered at the Gandhi Bhavan and raised slogans against the ruling party for “betraying” Telangana. They demanded that people vote against the Congress party in the ensuing Panchayat elections. Later, they have also burnt an effigy of Congress Core Committee which deferred decision on Telangana.

Dubbing Gandhi Bhavan as “Gadidala (Donkey) Bhavan”, the students tried to barge into its premises. However, police foiled their attempts and took them into custody. They were shifted to a nearby police station and released later.
