NIMS Doctors advise KCR to call off fast
Doctors of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad stated that TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao’s life is in danger. NIMS director B Prasada Rao said that KCR was not cooperating with the doctors for his treatment and said if he doesn’t discontinue his hunger strike, his life would be in danger.
KCR was being administered both saline and ‘total parental nutrition’ by the hospital but now doctors say that prolonged administration of IV fluids is leading to problems.
KCR is suffering from ‘hypoproteinemia’, which means low protein content in the blood. Doctors say KCR should take proper oral nutrition and reduce his dependence on the IV fluids as sources of nutrition.
The doctors strongly recommended that KCR should break his indefinite fast, otherwise his health would deteriorate further.
