NDTV Mid Term LS Poll

The midterm poll conducted by NDTV has shown that Congress will be decimated in Andhra Pradesh.

In Andhra Pradesh, respondents believe, YS Jaganmohan Reddy will sweep Andhra and Rayalaseema, while those in Telangana are overwhelmingly in favour of K Chandrasekhar Rao’s TRS party.

(A) Who would be the best chief minister?
(1) YS Jaganmohan Reddy : 48% (19% in Telangana, 62% in Seemandhra)
(2) N Chandrababu Naidu : 18%
(3) KCR : 17% (43% in Telangana, 4% in Seemandhra)
(4) Kiran Kumar Reddy : 11%
(5) Chiranjeevi : 6%

(B) Should Telangana be a separate state?
86% polled in Telangana and 24% respondents in Seemandhra say YES

(C ) Forecast for 42 Lok Sabha seats
(1) YSR Congress : 21
(2) TRS : 10
(3) Congress : 9 ( including 5 in Telangana)
(4) Others : 2

NDTV commissioned Ipsos, a leading market research agency, to conduct fieldwork for this opinion poll from a sample size of almost 30,000, covering as many as 125 out of the 543 Lok Sabha seats in the 18 big states.
