Naxal Problem not Related to Smaller States: Gandra
Hyderabad, July 16 (INN): Government Chief Whip in the Legislative Assembly Gandra Venkatramana Reddy said that it was incorrect to link the naxal problem with smaller States.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Gandra said that the naxal problem was not related to the size, but socio-economic conditions prevailing in that State. Citing the example of Kerela, he said that despite being small, Kerela was not facing naxal problems. He said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana have made their presentations before the Congress Core Committee based on the feedback they got back-home. He also dismissed the reports that theChief Minister feared increase in naxal-problem in case Telangana State was formed.
Gandra said that all leaders from the Congress party would abide by the decision of the party high command over the Telangana issue.
