MLA elect Korla Revathipathi passes away

MLA elect Korla Revathipathi passes away

Korla Revathipathi, elected to the Assembly in the recent elections from Tekkali constituency on a Congress ticket passed away yesterday after being admitted into the hospital in Vizag three day ago because of heart problems. Tragically, he died even before he took oath as an MLA.

Revathipathi was admitted to the CARE Hospital in Visakhapatnam on Sunday with a cardiac problem and was placed in the intensive coronary care unit. He had undergone a kidney transplant, but was keeping good health until his heart ailment surfaced. He is bereaved by his wife, a son and three daughters.

Revathipathi started his political career in 1986. In 1996, he joined the Telugu Desam Party and became MLA in 1999. He joined the Congress in 2005 and successfully contested from Tekkali in this year’s general elections.

Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock and grief over the death of Revathipathi.
